I do not write reviews very often, and I have read a TON of wrestling autobiographies from superstars of today (Hardy Boys, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, William Regal, Bret Hart many more) to old school wrestling autobiographies (Wrestling at the Chase, Superstar Billy Graham, Fred Blassie, Jerry Lawler, Dynamite Kid, Lou Thesz, many more) You get the point. I LOVE wrestling past and present. I LOVE reading all the books and stepping into the lives of these incredible individuals.Jerry Jarrett's book may be the best one I've ever read. It seems honest from a man with integrity and an insight on the business that is second to none. If you are a fan of Memphis wrestling and TNA wresting this book is for you. The insight into WCW and WWE are also very interesting. Sometimes being a man of integrity doesn't always guarantee results. God works through adversity. We all can learn who we are by the way we handle ourselves through adversity. I respect Jerry Jarrett and all he has done for the sport I love.

Ok, if you watched Memphis wrestling in the 70's and 80's then this will be an incredible read for you. I had no idea that Jerry Jarrett was doing all the great booking behind the scenes. His story is fascinating and very interesting and enlightening. A lot of stories and information on many of the individual wrestlers that I remember is given. Just a very enjoyable book from a magical era!
This is one of the best wrestling books I have read to date. It gives a tremendous account of not only the Memphis area wrestling but all the other territories as well. Jerry Jarret was an amazing promoter as well as an amazing person. The book has alot of information and stories. I couldnt put it down. Do not miss this one.
I grew up on memphis wrestling,I had a major crush on Jerry.To me this is a great read.To any and all who like me grew up on Memphis wrestling,You need to NOT MISS THIS ONE!

As a fan of Gulas wrestling I know know what happened though out the years and how Jerry Jarrett took over the territory, would recommend this book to all the true local Nashville and Memphis territories wrestling fans. It gives a lot of insight on the life of Jerry Jarrett and even the part about him running the WWF for awhile something I never knew. Wrestling will never be the same locally but this book will bring back many memeries of those days.
I was really looking forward to hearing about the latter days of the USWA promotion, similar to the extensive details included in Jerry's first book regarding starting NWA TNA, and it was nearly skipped over. It felt more like an autobiography written for his family than the wrestling fan. If you enjoy wrestling personality autobiographies, I'd recommend this book.
